Taking deep breaths can also get you more in touch with the present moment, which can reduce anxiety by preventing you from thinking about something stressful.

Taking deep breaths doesn’t require you to go to a special space, and it doesn’t require any equipment. Try it during your morning commute, during your lunch break, or even in the middle of a stressful meeting. Taking the time to breathe deeply benefits your mind and body, and is just one of the small steps you can take to promote good mental health.
